There are a few basics here. For the rest of the info please see the EZBoard for Operational Notes and Maps.Naming Convention:
We need a defined namimg system for Intel briefs and AARs etc.
All Squad Wars related files will be in the format Soviet_plan_09FEB02.jpg or .xls Please stick to this convention. Use underscores to separate elements of the file name and use upper case only for the first letter of a file name. We are going to be inundated with spreadsheets, maps, pics and so need to get it organised now.
So to refer to a frame to be flown on a particular date in the future and our plans for it we will use the name of 'Soviet _plan_Date.xls'
To refer to a Frame that has already been flown we will use 'Soviet_debrief_Date.xls' and it will contain the 'After Action Reports', BDA, recon results, aircraft sightings etc.
As our area of operations is large a Master Map known as the Squad Wars Battle Map {SWBM}consisting of two parts will be kept. It is at EZBoard.
The two parts will be: SWBM_Smolensk_North_Master.jpg and
SWBM_Smolensk_South_Master.jpg.
It will be what we use for all reference of position and will remain unchanged.
Updates of it will be made to reflect losses, gains, movements, aircraft placement etc. To refer to a particular map we will call any new version of the map 'SWBM_Smolensk_North_Date.jpg' A new Map of SWBM_Somlensk_South.jpg will also be created for every Frame. These will refer to the state of play AFTER the mission Date
By keeping each updated map we will establish a history of the War and could even be played as a 'stop motion' video to show the progress of the War.
Watch this space as we develop the concept. Ideas sought!
